Truman Capote’s A Christmas Memory

This warm and delicately illustrated gem of a holiday story is brought to life as a staged reading Sunday, December 17th at 7:30pm. Seven-year-old Buddy inaugurates the Christmas season by crying out to his cousin, Miss Sook Falk: “It’s fruitcake weather!” Thus begins an unforgettable portrait of an odd but enduring friendship between two innocent souls – one young and one old – and the memories they share of beloved holiday rituals.

The largely autobiographical story written by Truman Capote, is directed by Artistic Director Robert Walsh and starring Gloucester Stage fave (and Academy Award nominee) Lindsay Crouse and Christopher Lydon, the host of WBUR’s “Open Source.’’ The show benefiting Gloucester Stage Company includes cocktails and a post-show dessert buffet.
