Gloucester Stage Company has currently filled all its paid employment positions, but would welcome volunteers or unpaid interns willing to work in various departments of the theater.  Please contact Rowan Swanson, House and Company Manager at (978) 281-4099 or email at info@gloucesterstage.com

About this Organization:

GSC’s mission is to present professional productions of intellectually stimulating and socially relevant dramas, comedies, and musicals; provide a nurturing work environment in an inspirational setting for artists of exceptional talent; contribute to the cultural, economic, and educational development of Cape Ann; and enrich the nation's theater landscape by introducing audiences to new work. GSC was founded in 1979 by Geoff Richon, Denny Blodgett and internationally acclaimed playwright Israel Horovitz as a safe harbor for playwrights and new plays. Mr. Horovitz served as the first artistic director and continued in that role through the 2006 season. Eric Engel, who had served as Producing Director/Associate Artistic Director and guest director, is currently the Artistic Director. GSC has realized its mission with the production of more than 35 world premieres, 15 American premieres and 25 New England premieres. Plays developed at GSC have gone on to critical and popular acclaim on and off Broadway, across the U.S. and around the world. GSC has received several Elliot Norton Awards for individual productions and performances, including one to Mr. Horovitz for his work at GSC, and a New England Theater Conference Award. In 2004 GSC purchased the historic building on Smith Cove overlooking Rocky Neck, the nation’s oldest arts colony that had been its home since 1987. We are ready to embark on a capital campaign to modernize our 175-seat facility, take full advantage of our extraordinary location, and create a professionally staffed theater school to offer much needed drama programs in partnership with area schools.
