Gloucester Stage Youth Acting Workshops is a professional training program designed to provide young people with an outlet to nurture their creative potential through developing self-confidence, communication and teamwork skills to use in their daily life as well as introducing them to the skills necessary for professional theater.
The workshops include an introduction to theater basics such as acting techniques, theater games, improvisation, movement, vocal and physical expression,non-verbal communication, character preparation, scene study, storytelling, writing, public speaking and confidence building training. YAW also includes explorations of stagecraft, technical theater, costume design and theater related disciplines including music, magic, puppetry, art, sign language, and film and television production taught by guest artists in collaboration with YAW teacher and director Heidi Dallin. The YAW Summer Session is 2 hours of instruction per week and the YAW Fall and Winter Sessions expand to 4 hours of instruction per week.
Fridays starting July 12th (for 6 Weeks)
Ages 5-8 : 9am-11am
Ages 9-11 : 11:30am-1:30pm
Ages 12-18 : 2pm-4pm
Starting September 13th (for 6 weeks)
Ages 5-10 : Fridays 4:30-6:30pm & Saturdays 9am-11am
Ages 11-18 : Saturdays 9am-1pm
Advanced Teen Acting 14+: Fridays 2:30pm-4:30pm & Saturdays 11am-1pm
Starting Feb. 8th (for 6 weeks)
Ages 5-10 : Fridays 4-6pm & Saturdays 11am-1pm
Ages 11-18 : Saturdays 11am-3pm
Advanced Teen Acting 14+: Thursdays 4-6pm & Saturdays 1pm-3pm
