Jennifer Tarr, a Gloucester native, has a B.A. in Theatre Education from Salem State University and is currently working toward her M.A. at Emerson College. She has worked as the drama teacher for Rockport Middle School, North Reading Public Schools, Lynn English High School, Cape Ann YMCA aftercare programs, YMCA summer camps and Boston Children’s Theatre. She was also the props master at Salem State and for Unreliable Narrator theatre troupe. She is currently teaching at Harborlight Montessori.

Who is eligible for financial aid?
Financial aid eligibility is dependent upon the degree of need as verified by this form and supporting documents.

Do you offer payment plans?
Payment plans may be taken advantage of by anyone, regardless of financial need. This option is available to families who prefer to split a balance of $100 or more into two or three installments. No application is required; if you would like to arrange a payment plan, please email the Education Director: Katie@gloucesterstage.com

How do I apply for financial aid?
Email this completed form, with relevant documents attached, to the Education Director: Katie@gloucesterstage.com or bring paper copies to the theatre box office. Financial aid requests must be submitted a week prior to the first date of class or rehearsal.

What does a financial aid scholarship cover?
If eligible, one partial or full scholarship will be awarded per household. For scholarships greater than 50%, volunteer opportunities are encouraged. No child turned away due to lack of funding.

Our Goals

Classes and performance opportunities for students in grades 4-6 are designed to expand the actor’s toolkit and performance skills in an environment of trust and support. 

Fall 2021 Theatre Arts Workshops

Acting Fundamentals

In this skill-building class, young actors learn how to create characters, build relationships and play objectives in a scene. Students learn to make strong physical and vocal choices and create well rounded characters through improvisation exercises, theatre games and short scenes. The workshop culminates in a final sharing for families on the last day of class.
