From the playwright behind last season’s The Garbologists comes an unlikely world premiere of feminine proportions. Clarissa Parry is a tree climbing, free-spirited Victorian teenager with no interest in entertaining the slew of suitors found by her money-strapped father. The pressure is on Clarissa to find a husband and save her family’s estate when she receives a visit from an unapologetic, care-free suffragette who could convince Clarissa that she might want to forge a new path for herself. Experience a modern, coming-of-age story in this stand-alone prequel to Virginia Woolf’s Mrs. Dalloway.
Written by Lindsay Joelle and directed by Rebecca Bradshawº, this world premiere production runs August 13 to August 29. All performances are at the Natti-Willsky Performance Center – 267 East Main Street, Gloucester. Showtimes are Wednesdays – Saturdays at 7:30pm, with matinees Saturdays & Sunday at 2:00pm.

Lindsay Joelle (she/her) / Playwright
Lindsay Joelle writes big-hearted comedies about the collision of worldviews, a process fueled by fieldwork with insular communities across America. Published plays include TRAYF (Theater J, Geffen Playhouse, LA Drama Critics Circle nomination for best writing) and The Garbologists (Philadelphia Theatre Company, City Theatre, Northlight Theatre, Theater Alliance, among others). She is the recipient of the Goldberg Award for Graduate Playwriting, Desert Theater League Award for Best Original Writing, and commissions from the Ensemble Studio Theatre/Sloan Foundation Project, Vital Theatre, and Audible’s Emerging Playwrights Fund. Rebecca Bradshaw is in her fourth season as Gloucester Stage’s Producing Artistic Director. Josephine Moshiri Elwood* / Clarissa Parry
Josephine Moshiri Elwood returns to Gloucester Stage having previously appeared in Wish You Were Here. Haley Dyana Schwartz* / Sally Seton
Haley Dyana Schwartz is a New York–based actor, playwright, and educator. Her theater credits include shows and workshops with Hendel Productions, New Georges, Clubbed Thumb, Trinity Repertory Company, Celebration Theatre, Bread Loaf Acting Ensemble, and Ojai Playwrights Conference. Favorite roles include Fred in A Christmas Carol and the Governess in The Turn of the Screw. On screen, she stars in Curry Barker’s “The Chair”, which has garnered more than 10 million YouTube views and was featured in The Hollywood Reporter, in addition to several award-winning independent films. Haley holds an MFA in Acting from Brown University and is the recipient of a Shubert Foundation Award, the David Wickham Prize in Playwriting, Irondale’s OnWomen Festival Popular Choice and Curator Awards, and the Antonio Cirino Memorial Scholarship. When she’s not in the theater, you’ll find her touring with her best friend Olive Klug’s folk band holding down the keys.
Shobhit Piasa* / Peter Walsh
Born in London, Shobhit began acting in high school productions before landing the lead in the award-winning, BFI-backed short, “Londonstani.” Since then, he has continued to build credits on screen, including The “Buccaneers” for Apple TV, “Shadow and Bone” for Netflix, “Ackley Bridge” for the UK’s Channel 4, and upcoming appearances in Sophia Banks’ “Tilt”, and the BBC drama “Silent Witness.”

Jesse Garlick is a Boston-based actor, director and theatre educator. Chelsea Kerl is a Boston based freelance artist and educator; she received her MFA in Costume Design from Boston University. M Berry / Lighting Designer
M Berry is a lighting designer and theater maker as well as a Virginia Woolf enthusiast. Originally based in Boston, they have worked with companies such as the Huntington, Lyric Stage, Cape Cod Theater Company, Kitchen Theater Company, Front Porch Arts, Boston Conservatory, UMass Boston, and more. After working in the Boston area for several years, they recently moved to New York where they have now completed their first year as an MFA candidate in Lighting Design from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Leah Marcil / Props Designer + Apprentice
Hi my name is Leah Marcil! I’m 21 years old and I just graduated with a BA in Anthropology and Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies from the New College of Florida. I’m originally from Lakeland, Florida but recently relocated to Fort Pierce, Florida. In my spare time I enjoy playing video games, sewing, and listening to music. However, my true passion lies in live entertainment whether it be stage shows or concerts. I also love being a part of the physical story-telling process that theatrical production offers and being exposed to new perspectives, so I am incredibly excited to begin working as the Production Apprentice at Gloucester Stage!
Cassie Chapados / Intimacy Director
Cassie Chapados is thrilled to be making her GSC debut! She is a director, intimacy director, and educator passionate about the stories of young people, particularly, queer women and femmes. Some favorite projects include: Beyond Words and Inventing Samanta (Central Square Theater); Holy Chicken Sandwich and honeyhole (Moonbox New Works Festival); The Effect, As You Like It, and Bonnie and Clyde (Boston College); and, Sweeney Todd, Something Rotten!, and She Kills Monsters (Watertown Children’s Theater). In addition to her directing and intimacy work, she has served as a technical director, scenic designer and painter, and fight choreographer with a variety of local companies and educational institutions including Babson College, Wellesley College, Flat Earth Theatre, Hub Theatre Company of Boston, Lesley University, Tufts University, Arlington Catholic High School, Boston Playwright’s Theatre, Off the Grid Theatre Company, and Open Theatre Project.
Carolyn Ferris* / Production Stage Manager
Carolyn is a Boston based Stage Manager with a degree in Theater and English from The University of Massachusetts Amherst. She completed the apprenticeship with Gloucester Stage in 2024 and is thrilled to be returning! Recent credits include Theatre Workshop of Nantucket – Eureka Day (ASM), Punctuate4 – Madame Mozart (PSM), Company One – Learning How to Read by Moonlight (ASM), and more. Amy O’Halloran / Assistant Stage Manager + Apprentice
Amy O’Halloran is a Stage Manager from New Jersey and just graduated from Muhlenberg College with her bachelors in Theatre and English Literature. Her favorite stage management credits from Muhlenberg include Deck Stage Manager for The Play That Goes Wrong and Production Stage Manager for The Penelopiad, The Mad Ones, In Motion and Twelfth Night the Musical. In addition to Stage Management Amy served as the Production Manager and Head of Stage Management for the Muhlenberg Theatre Association. Favorite credits outside of Muhlenberg include Production Stage Manager for Sister Act and Assistant Stage Manager for Julius Caesar and Hairspray at the Scranton Shakespeare Festival. AJ Aversano / Assistant Director + Apprentice
From central New Jersey, AJ Aversano is the co-founding artistic director of Revolution StageWorks, a new theatre collective focused on creating a home for emerging artists in the New England area. They previously served as the managing director for QTCboston and as a development coordinator at Centaur Theatre in Montréal. AJ recently graduated from Suffolk University in Boston with a BA in Theatre and double minored in arts administration and advertising. They have previous directing and assistant directing credits with Revolution StageWorks, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Hub Theatre Company, No Notes Theatre Company, and Suffolk University’s Theatre Department. They have previous producing credits with QTCboston, Revolution StageWorks, and Suffolk University’s Theatre Department. They are incredibly excited to be joining GSC this summer! Emily Coccovizzo / Assistant Director + Apprentice
Emily Coccovizzo is a New Jersey native excited to expand her skills as a Stage Management Apprentice! In May of 2025 Emily graduated from Loyola University Maryland with a Bachelors of Arts in theatre and forensic science. At Loyola, Emily had the privilege to Stage Manage a student directed production of Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic and Assistant Stage Manager RENT at Iron Crow Theatre and its transfer to the M&T Bank Exchange at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center, home of the Hippodrome. Since graduating, Emily has moved home and focused on bringing theatre to her community, working on many shows throughout the state, including the East Coast premiere of Althea & Angela.
