Responding to feedback from patrons who are not able to join in person on Cape Ann, Gloucester Stage is producing weeklong streaming performances of three plays from our 2023 Summer Season. You can watch on any smart TV, smart phone, tablet, or web browser on a desktop.

2023 Streaming Season
Working with award-winning documentarians Persistent Productions, performances will be captured live by multiple cameras and edited into one seamless high definition performance. A special thank you to the playwrights, the publishers, Actors Equity Association, Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, and United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829, IATSE.

STEW
Regional Premiere by Zora Howard
Directed by Rosalind Bevan
Zora Howard’s (TV’s Premature) award-winning play STEW makes its regional premiere at Gloucester Stage July 7 to 23, directed by Rosalind Bevan making her GSC directing debut. The 2021 Pulitzer Prize Finalist for Drama is a hilarious and haunting drama that explores the unbreakable bond between three generations of Black women and reveals the power that loss holds over our lives when we refuse to share it with others.

THE DING DONGS

THE DING DONGS, a comedic thriller by Cape Cod playwright Brenda Withers (The Office, Matt & Ben, Cyrano) runs from August 11 to 27. Directed by incoming Artistic Director, Rebecca Bradshaw, this witty comedy is a lesson in how power evolves and intimidation works as strangers at the door turn out to be not only strange, but dangerous.

TALL TALES FROM BLACKBURN TAVERN
World Premiere by John Minigan
Directed by Bryn Boice
In celebration of Gloucester’s 400+ Celebration, Gloucester Stage has commissioned local playwright John Minigan (Sleepy Hollow, Queen of Sad Mischance, Noir Hamlet) to write TALL TALES FROM BLACKBURN TAVERN, based on folklore from Gloucester’s 400-year history. Directed by award-winning director, educator, actor, and producer Bryn Boice, this production runs from September 1 – 24.

How to Watch the Performances Online
You can watch the video via several platforms. Please find helpful steps and Vimeo information links below. You will receive an order receipt immediately upon purchase, but you will receive your video link and password when the performance is available to watch online. You will then have one week to watch the performance. Check spam or email info@gloucesterstage.com if you don’t receive this confirmation.
Watch via your computer’s web browser:
- Follow the link that was sent to you in your email
- Enter the password when prompted.
Watch via your Phone (on the Vimeo or Roku app or the phone’s web browser):
You do not need the Vimeo app to watch on your smartphone.

- Enter the password when prompted.
RECOMMENDED: Use your Smartphone to watch on your TV via AirPlay or Chromecast:
Watching the video using Airplay:
- With your smartphone (or tablet, etc) connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your smart TV
- Start playing the video on your phone
- Tap the AirPlay icon in the lower right-hand corner of the player (rectangle icon with an upwards triangle at the bottom)
- Select your smart TV (normally named something LG3601 or SAMSUNG 8800)
- Just like that, your selected video will begin playing on your TV.
Watching the video using Chromecast:
- With your smartphone (or tablet, etc.) connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your smart TV or Chromecast
- Start playing the video on your phone
- Tap the Chromecast icon in the lower right-hand corner of the player (rectangle icon with 3 curved lines radiating from the bottom left)
- Select your smart TV (normally named something LG3601 or SAMSUNG 8800)
- Just like that, your selected video will begin playing on your TV.
